Glenwood Animal Hospital strives to provide quality medical care for pets,
horses, and farm animals in a relaxed friendly environment.  Below are
some of the services we provide.

·        Puppy and Kitten Wellness Exams and Vaccinations

Each patient receives a thorough exam, fecal exam for parasites, general deworming, heartworm medication and age appropriate vaccine boosters at every visit.  We generally start puppy vaccinations at 6
weeks and the kitten vaccination series at 8 weeks.  Please call our office for more details on our
vaccination schedules.

·        Annual and Semi-annual Wellness Exams and Vaccinations

Each adult patient receives a thorough physical exam, heartworm testing (if canine), fecal exam for intestinal parasites, general deworming, and vaccinations every year.  We recommend 6 month wellness exams at which time we also
recheck a fecal exam for intestinal parasites and administer a Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination.  We offer a dental
vaccine to help prevent periodontal disease and damage caused by a specific group of bacteria.  We also offer the
Rattlesnake antitoxoid vaccine to those dogs that are at a higher risk.

·      Senior Wellness Exams
For our patients that are over 7 years of age we recommend a regular senior wellness exam and diagnostic workup.  We check a complete blood count, biochemistry panel, thyroid levels, urinalysis and radiographs or ultrasound of
the chest or abdomen if needed.  We can also measure blood pressures and EKGs in our older cardiac patients if necessary.
A retinal exam is often recommended in older cats.   Our pets are living longer and it is our goal to try to prevent problems or
diagnose and treat them in their earliest stages.  We value pet's quantity and quality of life.

·     Dental Care
We recommend regular dental exams, cleaning and polishing.  Dental treatments that are available include: extractions, Doxyrobe treatment, Consil application, Oravet treatment, dental radiographs, and dental vaccines.

·   General Surgery
A veterinary assistant closely monitors all of our surgeries and charts vitals throughout each procedure.  We utilize equipment that can monitor oxygen levels, pulse rate, temperature, EKG, and blood pressure.  Our patients receive
intravenous fluids and pain medication with every procedure.
·   In-house Laboratory
Our in-house laboratory includes the IDEXX VetTest machine to measure blood chemistries, the VetLyte electrolyte analyzer, and the QBC blood count analyzer.  We also have the following IDEXX snap tests:  3DX
Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia, Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Combo, and Parvovirus Antigen Test.  Our
veterinarians are also skilled in cytology, fluid analysis, and blood smear interpretation.
·  Radiology and Ultrasound
We have an automatic radiograph processor that allows us to process our films in a timely manner.  We will often send radiographs to veterinary radiologists for further interpretation.
Starting in 2008 we began offering ultrasonography for our companion animals.
 Boarding
We offer indoor cages and outdoor runs.  We have a separate room for our cat boarders.
·  Microchipping
Currently we have AVID microchips available.
·  Grooming by appointment
Our groomers are available on Monday mornings.  Please bring your dog before 9 am.
